Our Committees
CommNexus San Diego leadership and staff are assisted by committees that provide guidance and feedback from the industry on the direction of our various programs. These committees are comprised of industry leaders who donate their time and resources through their knowledge and expertise. The following committees are currently taking active roles in CommNexus programming:
MarketLink Committee
The CommNexus MarketLink Committee provides guidance on the CommNexus MarketLink™ program and is responsible for overseeing the pipeline of MarketLink Partner companies that participate. The committee also oversees the establishment and ongoing relationships between CommNexus and our global affiliates.

Kobe Bogaert Principal, Strategic Momentum Mr. Bogaert has 10 years of experience in executive roles where he has worked with companies from a VC backed start-up to medium sized and multi-national companies. He has worked with Dr. Igor Ansoff, a distinguished strategic thinker and author often referred to as the ‘father of strategic management’. He has successfully applied his strategic management skills to help position his client companies for further growth, increased value and subsequent exits. Mr. Bogaert has an extensive international network to help his clients establish relationships with domestic and international companies. |

The CommNexus Programs Committee provides guidance on the CommNexus Headliners program and is responsible for creating and structuring the content for these events.

Andrew Seybold President & CEO, Andrew Seybold, Inc. Andrew Seybold, President and CEO of Andrew Seybold, Inc., is one of the most respected and influential analysts in the wireless industry today. For more than twenty five years, he has served the industry and shaped initiatives for world leaders of the wireless industry, including Verizon, Nokia, AT&T, Motorola and Qualcomm. His firm has provided wireless consulting and education services for startups to Fortune 1000 companies such as Dow Chemical, Ford Motor Company and Microsoft. Mr. Seybold has consulted to some of the industry's most talented and successful entrepreneurs. He was a key consultant to a number of companies that introduced products and services that have had a significant impact on wireless including Research In Motion's popular BlackBerry, Hewlett-Packard's first handheld device, first two-way pager, Good Technologies' first products and AT&T's push-to-talk offering. He also introduced RadioMail to Dell for the first-ever notebook wireless email offering. He has served on the Motorola Research Visionary Board, IBM's Mobile Computing Advisory Board and a number of other advisory boards. Mr. Seybold is a Fellow in the Radio Club of America in recognition of his contributions to the wireless industry. He also co-founded and served as a board member of the Personal Computing and Communications Association (PCCA). Andrew Seybold's Outlook for Mobile Computing newsletter and his Andrew Seybold/Forbes Wireless Outlook newsletter were must-reads and today his Commentary is arguably the most widely read newsletter among executives of leading wireless network operators. He co-founded Andrew Seybold Wireless University in 1995, which has been attended by thousands of industry professionals and continues to be the only in-depth educational program of its kind in the wireless industry. As a trusted authority on wireless technology and business issues, Mr. Seybold has been featured in The Wall Street Journal. He is the author of Using Wireless Communications in Business and several other books. |
NextStage Committee
The CommNexus NextStage Committee provides guidance on the CommNexus NextStage program and is responsible for developing and reviewing the pipeline of participating companies as well as for selecting knowledgable executives from a wide range of industries to participate on the panel of each individual program session.

Martha Dennis, Ph.D. Dr. Martha Dennis has been a telecommunications entrepreneur, technologist, venture capitalist, and corporate director during her 35 year career. Currently she is Principal at Gordian Knot and serves as a director on the boards of Netsapiens, Citiwink and SpaceMicro. She also serves on the advisory boards of several San Diego companies. Most recently she was a Venture Partner with Windward Ventures. She co-founded Pacific Communications Sciences, Inc. and Waveware Communications after leading software development at Linkabit Corp. She chairs the San Diego Commission on Science and Technology and she is Past Board President of CommNexus, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, the Bishops School, and UCSD Athena. She currently serves on the boards of Harvey Mudd College, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Triton Innovation Network as well as on the advisory boards of the UCSD Rady School of Management, the SDSU College of Engineering, and the Smith College Picker Engineering Program. She also serves as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at CONNECT’s Springboard Program and a member of the Chairmen’s Roundtable. Her doctorate is in Applied Mathematics (Computer Science) from Harvard University. |
