Eddie is the Managing Member of the firm’s San Diego office. His practice is focused on a full range of corporate and securities matters, including corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, venture financing, technology licensing, and general business counseling for both public and private companies. Before joining Mintz Levin, Eddie was the firm-wide practice group leader of the corporate and securities group at an international law firm in the San Diego area. He has extensive experience with counseling public and private companies in the life sciences, telecommunications, software, hardware, e-commerce, and information technology industries in a broad range of transactional matters. Eddie has represented clients in over 200 mergers and acquisition transactions. Eddie has represented investors and private companies in numerous private equity financings valued in excess of $200 million. Some recent financings include the $5 million financing of a chemical research company; the $5 million financing of a wireless company; the $8 million financing of a telecommunications company; the $2.5 million financing of a medical device company; the $6 million financing of a software company; the $3.5 million financing of a health care company; the $2 million financing of an electronics component company; and the $2 million financing of a consumer products company. Eddie has represented clients in numerous securities offerings, including Comps.com, a $67.5 million initial public offering of common stock, and Rhythms NetConnection, a $250 million PIPES transaction. Eddie is admitted to practice in California. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the California Bar Association, and the San Diego Bar Association. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles (1991) and his J.D. from Stanford Law School (1994). While studying at Stanford Law School, Eddie was the Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Journal of International Law and the Articles Editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review. He was named in the 2006 edition of Lawdragon's Lawdragon 500 New Stars, New Worlds guide, a publication that recognizes "the freshest faces in American law." In 2003, Eddie was honored as one of "40 of the brightest young professionals, executives, entrepreneurs and civic leaders in San Diego County" under the age of 40 by San Diego Metropolitan magazine. In 2006, he was named to the “Transcript Ten” by The Daily Transcript. This honor is awarded to San Diego’s top attorneys across all practice areas selected by the editorial team of the major local daily business publication.
