The Voyage for Cleaner Energy

DESCRIPTION/ABSTRACT:
The Voyage for Cleaner Energy is a 5-year, worldwide lecture series and sailing expedition that includes stops in the U.S., Russia, Europe, China and India. Swan will discuss his lifelong commitment to preserving Antarctica and his 5-year objective to work with leaders around the world in search of viable solutions to global climate change.
The ‘2041’ sailboat will launch from San Francisco in April 2008 on a 5-year, worldwide voyage to raise awareness about climate change and renewable energy. The Voyage for Cleaner Energy will continue through the Panama Canal in July and then along the American east coast next fall.  The team will then set sail for Russia , Europe, the Middle East, India and China.  The voyage will end in 2012 when Swann attends the third international Earth Summit on Sustainable Development. Throughout the Voyage for Cleaner Energy, the ‘2041’ sailboat will stop in key port cities where Swann will host a series of events to inspire and motivate individuals, companies, universities and communities to take decisive action and affect positive change to reduce green house gas emissions.
