How does MarketLink Work?
It is simple! Anyone with a technology relating to BT's below list can apply for a meeting with British Telecom. BT will receive and review ALL applications and select who they want to meet - up to 16 companies during 2 days.

Who from BT will be participating?
Rob Hull
VP, Business Development, Technology & Innovation, BT Innovate
Rob Hull is the VP Business Development for the Technology and Innovation team within BT Innovate. He heads up the Innovation Scouting function whose role is to identify, qualify, then introduce innovative technologies, propositions and business models into the BT Lines of Business. The team reports back on US market trends and help manage BT's small venture capital activity. He is the author of BT’s external venturing strategy and plays a major role in the evaluation of innovative technologies and propositions with a view to their strategic fit within BT. He then leads the initial business development activity into BT. Projects that Rob has been heavily involved with include BT’s wireline VoIP services for consumers and business, IPTV and fixed mobile convergence.Rob worked in BT’s Group Strategy and Development Department for 15 months being heavily involved with BT’s strategy on Application Service Provision and API utilisation. Immediately before this, he was Head of Marketing and Business Development for one of BT's major business sales units where he had had a number of sales and marketing roles over a period of 10 years. Rob has a Master's Degree in Electronic Systems Engineering, and has lived in the Bay Area with his wife and 3 young children since September 2000.
James Peel
Director Global Scouting Operations, BT Innovate, BT plc
James Peel is part of the Technology & Innovation scouting team within BT which is responsible for sourcing BT's external innovation in the United States, Asia and Europe. Based in Silicon Valley, and in association with leading Venture Capital firms and entrepreneurs, the team identifies disruptive technologies and innovative service opportunities, and establishes the technical and commercial links with BT's Research and Operational divisions
James holds a post graduate degree from Sheffield Hallam University and joined BT in November 1999, previous roles include major customer account management and executive business support functions.

There are up to 16 spots and 4 standby spots available for 45 minute presentation meetings with British Telecom. Applicants will be notified on a rolling basis if accepted, with the deadline for final notification of acceptance on May 11, 2009.
