Presents:

Are you ready for the new FASB Standards

DESCRIPTION:

Are you ready for the new FASB Accounting Standards Codification (ASC)?

On June 30, 2009, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued FASB Statement No. 168, The FASB Accounting Standards Codification™ and the Hierarchy of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles—a replacement of FASB Statement No. 162. As of this date, FASB Accounting Standards Codification™ (ASC) has become the source of authoritative U.S. accounting and reporting standards for nongovernmental entities, in addition to guidance issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). FASB ASC significantly changes the way financial statement preparers, auditors, and academics perform accounting research.
This presentation will be an introduction to the FASB ASC and an opportunity to learn the potential impact codification will have on financial reporting.
Areas of focus include:
  • Basic understanding of the codification
  • Referencing to the codification in financial statements
  • Using and preparing for the codification
  • Codification guidance specific to software companies
