Stan Glasgow Sony Electronics Inc, Sony Corporate America Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group Senior Advisor, Chairman of Sony Electronics Stan Glasgow is the president and chief operating officer of Sony Electronics Inc. He was appointed to the position in March 2006. Prior to this role he served as president of Sony Electronics Consumer Sales Company where his responsibilities included management of the company’s retail and online sales channels, in addition to oversight of the SonyStyle retail store strategy in the United States. Previously, Glasgow was senior vice president of Sony Electronics Information Technology Products Division where, in his short time heading the department, he refocused and targeted VAIO® sales channel strategy, restructured the CLIE®handheld business and coordinated media player product strategy. Glasgow joined Sony in 2001 as vice president of computer displays where he managed product and loss and marketing operations for LCD and CRT displays. During his tenure, Glasgow developed innovative sales programs and product strategies that resulted in $275 million in sales. Prior to joining Sony in 2001, Glasgow was the owner and president of Capetech Sales, where he spearheaded sales of display products and consulting services to Asian electronics companies. Through the establishment of contracts with major U.S. IT companies, Glasgow was able to increase sales by more than $400 million for several Asian companies. Prior to that, he was CEO of Capetronic Computer Products Holdings Ltd., a global display manufacturing company with more than $600 million in Far East/OEM manufacturing revenue. While at Capetronic, Glasgow held a variety of executive positions ranging from, president and managing director to product manager to manager of Far East Operations. Glasgow's thirty-plus years of consumer electronics and computer experience have included oversight of total sales and marketing management, in addition to design, engineering and financial supervision of consumer electronics products in the United States and abroad. Glasgow was named Sony Corporation Group Executive in June 2007. The title is given in recognition of leadership and granted to individuals who are making significant contributions to specific Sony companies in addition to the global Sony group. Glasgow holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
