Jennifer Byrne
Executive Director, New Business Development and Partnership Management, Verizon Wireless

As Executive Director, New Business Development and Partnership Management at Verizon Wireless, Jennifer Byrne is responsible for creating and leading key strategic partnerships, driving new revenue opportunities and product innovation such as Skype Mobile, as well as running the VCAST Apps, Verizon’s mobile applications storefront. In prior roles at Verizon and Verizon Wireless, Jennifer was responsible for cross-platform content acquisition and business development across FiOSTV and mobile, managed Verizon’s social networking and location based services, and ran mobile video service, V CAST Video, for which she secured and launched a number of key exclusives for Verizon. Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in business development and content distribution across various media platforms including cable, satellite, broadband, and wireless. Prior to joining Verizon, she held executive positions at mobile games publisher, Hands-On Mobile, as well as CBS Broadcast Television. Jennifer began her career in television in Rome, Italy where she was Manager, Content Acquisition & Business Affairs at Orbit Satellite & Cable TV Network, a multiplatform, multi-lingual tv and radio service provided to the Middle East and North Africa. Jennifer received her B.A from Duke University and speaks French, Italian and Spanish.

Andrea Henry
Associate Director of Business Development, Verizon Wireless

Andrea Staertow Henry is the Associate Director of Business Development at Verizon Wireless with responsibility for identifying, evaluating, negotiating and maintaining strategic partnerships. Andrea has been directly involved in building valuable partnerships in a number of key innovation focus areas including e-publishing, connected devices, and connected address book. Prior to joining Verizon Wireless, Andrea was Director of Business Development for mobile startup Inciscent and also managed Business and Corporate Development for Metrocall, the nation’s second largest paging operator. Andrea holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a BA in International Relations from The George Washington University.

Dan Keoppel
Executive Director of Verizon Ventures,
Verizon Wireless
Dan Keoppel is Executive Director of Verizon Ventures, Verizon Communications’ venture investing program. In this capacity, he evaluates startup companies and is point person for contacting the venture capital community, keeping abreast of major technology and business trends in search of relevant venture prospects for the Verizon wireline, wireless, and enterprise business units. Mr Keoppel has been with Verizon and its predecessor companies, Bell Atlantic and Nynex, for 15 years where he has held a variety of corporate development and merger & acquisition positions. Prior to Verizon, Mr. Keoppel worked at AT&T in their mergers and acquisitions department, was controller to AT&T Ventures Corporation, and held various finance positions with Lucent (then AT&T) Consumer Products. Dan has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Rutgers University and a MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is based at the Verizon Center in Basking Ridge, NJ.

Gopal Rajagopalan
Director of New Business Development & Partnership Management, Verizon Wireless

Padmanabha (GOPAL) Rajagopalan is Director of New Business Development & Partnership Management at Verizon Wireless, Basking Ridge, USA. In this role, Gopal is responsible for leading new business development in discovering innovative concepts and companies for enhancements to Verizon Wireless’ product portfolio and managing key strategic partnerships. Prior to this, Gopal was responsible for long term technology planning for handsets, supporting market research activities for handsets and formulation of Verizon’s handset portfolio based on market and business needs. He has also played a key role in defining several handset platform and cost saving strategies for Verizon Wireless, now being implemented by the company. Before joining Verizon, Gopal worked for several years in Motorola Inc., holding various positions in research and development, program management and product management. While in R&D, he was one of the primary software architects of the TDMA handsets, that were sold to major carriers in the US and Latin America (over 10 million). He holds a joint patent in push-to-talk based technology which he co-developed with members of an innovation team inside Motorola and several other patents in pursuit in the area of handset user experience. Gopal holds a MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas and Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communications (graduated top of class). His interests include tennis, golf, travel, astrology and learning Sanskrit.

Ed Ruth
Director Business Development, Verizon Wireless

As the Director of New Business Development and Strategic Partnerships , Ed Ruth is responsible for the business development around mobile application & media verticals (video, music, gaming & social). Previous to this role, Ed was responsible for all business development, licensing and programming for Verizon’s V CAST Apps, Brew and VCAST Music services. Ed began his career at Verizon in retail sales and then moved on to head up youth marketing for the West Area. Ed was instrumental in incubating Verizon’s music strategy at both nation and local levels, initiating the first Verizon tour series with Puddle of Mudd as well as integrating music into the company’s marketing and advertising campaigns. Ed Ruth received his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego and is currently based at Verizon Wireless new Innovation Center in San Francisco, CA.
