PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Cellular phones with WLAN capabilities are starting to hit the market as are solutions enabling converged voice and data services over WLAN. Indeed, convergence is being driven at the network, device and application levels. Come and find out about solutions that are being brought to market to enable these converged services. Judge the potential for yourself and take the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.
PANELISTS: Matt Ginn, Vice President of Business Development, Meru Networks Matt has had 15 years of sales, marketing and operations experience in the wireless telecommunications industry. He worked previously as Vice President, Business Development at Ericsson and as a Sales Directors at Qualcomm. Previous marketing and sales positions include Cellular One, Bay Area, Bay Area Telecom, and McCaw Cellular. Matt holds a MBA from Saint Mary's College, Moraga, CA, and a Bachelor of Arts, Communications, University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA.
Poornima Lalwaney, Program Manager, Nokia Poornima leads the San Diego team developing Internet and application protocol software for CDMA terminals. Prior to Nokia, Poornima was with Motorola San Diego (as part of General Instrument Corporation ) where she worked on data networking architecture issues for cable modems and contributed to the definition of Voice over IP over Cable Access Networks. Poornima Lalwaney holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Poornima has been awarded several patents, has served on technical program committees and chaired sessions at IEEE Conferences and published papers in International Conferences and Journals.
