Rise of the Machines 2:

A Field Trip to the Center of Excellence for Small Robots

**Must be a U.S. Citizen or possess a valid green card to attend**

It appears robots are making a significant difference in current warfare as Explosive Ordnance Defense (EOD) vehicles and have great promise as sentry and parameter defense agents.  Learn more about the roles and opportunities for semi autonomous networked robots and unmanned vehicles in today’s warfare challenge.  This is a field trip to the Robotics Center of Excellence at SSC.  SSC has been involved in robotics research and development since the early 1960’s supporting unmanned vehicles for under-sea, land and air.  You will receive updates on the following:

  • State of the art of unmanned systems technology
  • Ongoing research in the development of autonomous highly collaborative unmanned systems
  • Network technology objectives for implementing a network of unmanned vehicles
  • A concept of operations and an innovative solution using unmanned vehicle systems and a robust, scalable system
  • Hardware demonstrations of small unmanned group vehicles used in EOD and reconnaissance
  • A glimpse of the future of unmanned vehicles as they move from 1 on 1 autonomous vehicles to 1 to 10 control system vehicles
  • The integration of ground and air unmanned vehicles
  • Discussions with Bart Everett, one of the most renowned authorities in UV’s
