Stephen S. Korniczky, Global I.P. Practice Chair at Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker, LLP, focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, and has been lead counsel in numerous patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright lawsuits. He has successfully represented internationally based, publicly traded and emerging companies in the internet/ e-commerce, computer, communications, semiconductor, consumer electronics, automotive and medical device industries. He utilizes his combined prosecution and litigation background to advise clients on business oriented IP licensing and portfolio development strategies. He has successfully designed and implemented value-added strategies to raise venture capital, generate licensing revenue, cross-license competing IP and position companies for acquisition. Mr. Korniczky has been honored as one of the “Top 30 IP Attorneys in California” and as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Mr. Korniczky received his J.D. from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1987 and his B.S. from Polytechnic University, New York in Engineering in 1984. He also served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Giles Sutherland Rich, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit from 1991 to 1993.

Kent M. Walker is a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation practice group and Litigation department and the head of our San Diego Trademark, Copyright & Advertising practice group. Mr. Walker joined the Firm in 1997 and is resident in the San Diego office. Mr. Walker’s practice includes litigation in all areas of intellectual property, emphasizing patent disputes, particularly telecommunication and biotechnology companies. Prior to joining Cooley, Mr. Walker was an Engineer with the Southern California Gas Company, a law clerk in the Civil Defense branch of the L.A. City Attorney's Office and then an associate attorney at the L.A. firm of Fischbach, Perlstein, Lieberman and Yanny. Mr. Walker received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1986 where he was selected as one of the Top Five graduating seniors in Engineering. He received a J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in 1994. Mr. Walker is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central, Northern and Eastern Districts of California, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal and Ninth Circuits and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
