In this era, communications technologies advance and morph at a dizzying pace, particularly for those people not categorized as “early-adopters”.  This pace is even more frenetic in the mobile universe due to the diversity across regions, in technologies, in markets, and equipment platforms.  The term “4G” has been populating news feeds for well over two years and yet there still does not exist a common understanding of what it means or when it will impact our lives.

Clint McClellan, Senior Director of Market Intelligence
QUALCOMM

Clint McClellan is currently the senior director of Market Intelligence for QUALCOMM Incorporated. McClellan's current responsibilities include overseeing market intelligence, market analysis, and market research. McClellan joined QUALCOMM in December of 1997 as director of strategic marketing. McClellan brings a wealth of wireless industry analysis experience to QUALCOMM. Prior to joining the Company, McClellan most recently served as a senior analyst for Gartner Group/Dataquest's Telecommunications Group in its personal communications wireless program. While he was at Dataquest, McClellan served as a news anchor for two years on the Good Morning San Jose show at KNTV, an ABC affiliate, where he presented analysis and commentary on daily news events affecting high-technology industries. Previously, McClellan worked as a marketing specialist at Telephone House Nippo in Kobe, Japan and for CH2M Hill Consulting Engineers in Oakland, California. McClellan holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.


Pat Scannell, Group Manager, Strategic Partners

Sprint
Patrick Scannell is the Group Manager, Strategic Partners for Sprint’s WiMAX business unit. That business unit is now known as Xohm.  The Strategic Partners team develops and manages Xohms’  major product partnerships and alliances, including Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, Google and other key go-to-market partners.  Previously, Patrick was responsible for Sprint’s embedded notebook computer program.  He has also had several other roles in his six years with Sprint, including strategic business development, product line manager for Sprint’s Managed Wireless Services, and Principal Consultant to Sprint Mobile Computing Services.  Prior to joining Sprint, he spent four years as founder and CEO of a professional services and technology consulting firm.Patrick is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder.
