The Semiconductor SIG Presents:

State of the Semiconductor Union

2010 comeback predicted for the Semiconductor Union.  Even during the darkest part of this recession, the age-old innovative spirit that is the foundation of semiconductor advancement continued to burn in our industry and would not be extinguished.  The innovators, mavericks and visionaries in this industry did what they do best - innovate.  And, sure enough, we have innovated our way out of this downturn by propelling new products that whet the appetite of the consumers around the world at price points that even emerging economies can support.  And the proof of an improving economy is in the financials and trends.  Although many of the current annual estimates found for the top companies forecast a negative company growth over 2008, further confirming that 2009 will be a down year, GSA continues to see growth among well-positioned companies, strong balance sheets, lean inventories, a diverse industry and on-going R&D investment, and is therefore poised for a comeback in 2010.
