Vice President, Engineering, Sierra Wireless
Evan is a Vice President of Engineering at Sierra Wireless and brings more than 23 years of experience in engineering and wireless systems. He leads the engineering team in the Sierra Wireless Carlsbad office. Formerly, he was Vice President of Wireless Technologies at AirPrime where he drove development of product definition, program management, and intellectual property. Prior to joining AirPrime, he was CDMA System Sector Manager at Philips Semiconductors (formerly VLSI Technology). There, he started the CDMA engineering program, defining product requirements and architecture, and built a team of over 100 engineers. Before joining Philips, he contributed heavily towards the development of Motorola's large-scale digital trunking radio systems and base station products and directed a 50-person engineering operation. He holds an MSEE specializing in DSP from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a BSEE with an emphasis in Computer Engineering from Michigan State University.
Steve Pazol is president, nPhase, a Verizon Wireless / Qualcomm joint venture, where he directs all aspects of the company's operations, strategic development and execution. nPhase provides machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless communications and smart services offerings across a wide variety of market segments, including healthcare, manufacturing, utilities, distribution and consumer products. Previously Pazol was vice president and general manager for the Global Smart Services group for Qualcomm Enterprise Services, the group that provided the basis for the newly formed joint venture. Pazol is a seasoned entrepreneur and CEO with a 20+ year track record of successful startups in high technology and emerging markets, including M2M (machine to machine), enterprise software and wireless technologies. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Pazol was the founder and CEO of the original nPhase which was acquired by Qualcomm in 2006. A recognized thought leader and industry expert, Pazol has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Chicago Innovation Award, was named one of the original 10 M2M Pioneers by M2M Magazine, and served as moderator of the first M2M web log—M2Mblog (www.M2Mblog.com). He has written numerous articles in technology journals, is on the Advisory Board of M2M Magazine, was the technical editor of the Unicenter Advisor magazine for more than 7 years as well as guest editor of Internet Security Advisor. He is also the technical editor and co-author of Unicenter TNG for Dummies

We exist to entirely bridge the gap between M2M data applications and wireless service providers, to ensure that M2M applications can be brought to market quickly and affordably.

Neeraj has over 17 years of experience in Strategy and IT consulting with experience in Healthcare, Databases and Wireless. He founded Tagnos in 2005 and built the company from the ground-up, which involved corporate development, strategic planning and product management. Neeraj oversees the strategic vision of the company and has been instrumental in developing and managing alliances and distribution channels through US, UK, India and Singapore markets. Neeraj is a recognized patent holder with several inventions in wireless healthcare and workflow space – both devices and IT solutions. He is passionate about bringing change through implementation of lean manufacturing and other industrial engineering concepts to the healthcare processes. Neeraj serves as Sponsorship Chair of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Southern California Chapter and is the Co-Chair for Commnexus (formerly San Diego Telecom Council) Location-Based Services group. Prior to founding Tagnos, he was involved in Management consulting and IT leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente, IBM, Amgen, Blueshield and THQ Wireless. Neeraj earned a Masters degree in Computer Science from BITS Pilani (India) and Executive MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management with emphasis in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
