The Mobile Software Development SIG Presents…
As of September 1, 2010, over 250,000 third party applications were officially in the App Store alone. The mobile market continues to change, with new, more capable wireless devices and platforms being introduced frequently. As software developers specializing in mobile, it's difficult enough to keep up with the hardware and platform innovation, but is anyone actually making money at this?
This upcoming SIG event will focus on various mobile business models from companies at very different stages, and representing a wide number of market verticals: telecom, publishing, social, advertising. Topics discussed will range from the role of mobile operators, app store approach vs. browser approach for distributing content, which platforms deliver the most success for the 3rd party developers, etc.

Dennis Becker is a technology entrepreneur with extensive experience in telecommunications and Internet software development and has architected the platforms that have enabled CommerceTel to become the first commercially available, IP and software-centric "telecommerce" service provider moving rapidly into the mobile commerce space. Prior to co founding CommerceTel, Becker held key management and consulting positions for a variety of manufacturing and industrial companies in the Pacific Northwest.
