Android Building Blocks

In the last two years since Android's first public release in 2008, Android has emerged as one of the most popular mobile operating systems being used by mobile device manufacturer's worldwide. The talk covers architecture overview of the Android OS, explaining the different functional blocks; release history of Android and features that were added and can be expected to be added. Also covered as part of the talk would be Motorola enhancements to Android releases base functionality.

Deepak Kundra is currently working as a software engineer in the mass market product development group at Motorola Mobility Inc. Deepak has worked as a product lead engineer on two of Motorola's android products this year, the Motorola CliqXT for T-Mobile and Motorola Bravo for AT&T. Deepak has extensive experience in Android SW Stack ranging from Application Development to Linux Kernel Device Drivers and many other Mobile SW platforms such as BREW, Symbian, Windows Mobile, etc.
