SPEAKER:
Jeffery Weber
Architect, TurboTax Software
My first introduction to software engineering was in high school where I won a programming contest by creating a slide puzzle application for a Radio Shack TRS 80. I went on to graduate magnum cum laude with a B.S. in applied mathematics and computer science from UCSD in 1988. My introduction to mobile applications was in 1990 at a small startup company programming GRiD tablets using C++. In 1993 I joined a local company named Chipsoft which later merged with Intuit, where I have worked on all aspects of their TurboTax product. I have overseen technology transitions to support DOS, Macintosh, Windows and Online. In my current role as software architect I am responsible for shaping and adapting our technologies to support applications on various phone and tablet platforms in addition to our existing Windows, Macintosh and Online platforms.
