PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
How can San Diego's commercial telecom firms help the War Fighter? What does the War Fighter need and can't get? What is the War Fighter's operating environment? Third Fleet Commander, Vice Admiral Mike Bucchi, will host a special Military SIG event aboard his command ship, the USS Coronado. VADM Bucchi will brief the Mil SIG invited guests on his command's role and mission, as well as issues and challenges of insuring that the US War Fighter maintains an unfair technology advantage over the enemy. VADM Bucchi will also provide an unclassified tour that will reveal the Coronado's capability, technology and operating environment.

A F-14 pilot, with over 6000 flight hours, including 1000 carrier arrested landings, VADM Bucchi understands first hand the needs of the modern War Fighter.

USS Coronado - Command ship of the U.S. THIRD Fleet

The USS Coronado has become the center for naval innovation and technology experimentation. Incorporating the latest network-centric technology, Coronado is the most advanced command ship in the world. The office of the Secretary of the Navy officially designated USS Coronado (AGF 11) the Navy's Sea-Based Battle Lab. In this role, the Coronado tests several types of new technologies and innovations to access operational compatibility and possible further implementation throughout the U.S. Navy.
